For the Freaks - Live Music - Aerialists
Catch the aerialists of Fly Freak Studio collaborating with local musical artists, Venus DeMars and Glycerin Tears! There will be nearly twenty fly freaks performing some of the best aerial arts in the Midwest to live, luscious sounds of these local legends at the infamous LUSH Lounge and Theatre.
The theme is FREAKS! While, of course it is optional, all guests should feel encouraged to wear what FREAK means to them.

Self Defense Workshop
Basic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu moves to use in self-defense situations. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that uses leverage and joint manipulation to overcome an attackers strength. It’s one of the most efficient self-defense techniques, since the size of the attacker is not a concern when you know how to apply the techniques properly.
Sling - Drops for Scaredy Cats
This advanced-level workshop takes the basic drops that you already know to the next level. We will focus on form and mechanics to safely control your body through double and triple wraps and experiment with stacking drops together to make them even more exciting!

Aerial Yoga + Soundbath
Start your day with deep refreshment and relaxation from the inside out. Practice stretching, breathing, and strengthening while a sound bath of crystal bowls, Tibetan singing bowls and hand pan gently envelopes the room in its reverberation.

Kids and Youth Circus Camp
Join the circus for five consecutive days with Fly Freak! Guided by our expert team of teachers, kids will practice aerial sling and Lyra (hoop), and get a taste of ground disciplines including acro balance, juggling, and contortion.
Prerequisite: at least one (four-week) session of beginner sling.
Dates: August 4 - 8.

ASD/Neurodivergent Kids & Youth Aerial Sling Workshop
Join Coach Gina in this sling workshop specifically designed to encourage young autistic and neurodiverse people to build their balance, coordination, and concentration skills all while exploring creatively in a safe space. We will practice all-levels-friendly moves, spend time moving inside and out of the fabric, and spend some time exploring what it feels like to spin!
No aerial experience is necessary, this workshop will offer options for both beginner and intermediate students.
Coach Gina has worked with young autistic and neurodiverse people in a classroom setting for 15 years and has seen the benefit of movement and risk-based play in a safe environment firsthand!

Lyra Spinshop
Build your spin-stamina and learn new spin techniques in this all-levels Lyra workshop! Experiment with fast spins, work on spins to mounts, and play with sequences that look fabulous in orbit. Pre-requisite: please have attended at least 4 Lyra classes prior to attending this workshop.

Sling Level-Up from Intermediate to Advanced 4-Week Session
If you have been hanging out in intermediate sling for a while, now is your time to level up! This 3-week series will focus on the bigger intermediate sling tricks like Georgia twist, Hayley's comet, shoot from the hip, kickstand, and corset. We will work on nailing some of the more difficult tricks and explore different ways out of common wraps so you feel confident going into more advanced explorations.
Silks Drops
This intermediate silks workshop will cover foundational drop pathways on split-panel silks. We will drop forward, backward, sideways, and straight down. Learn how to hold your body shape in each drop to keep yourself safe and how to control your speed to go faster or slower. More experienced students will have opportunities to stack multiple drops within one wrap, while newer students focus on the basics of each drop.
Prerequisite: students should be able to get into a hip key from a climb and invert from the floor.

Sugar n' Spice. Too much spice, not enough sugar? There is no one right way to be a human, regardless of gender identity. We explore these outdated rhymes in flight. Strength, self-empowerment, and the beauty of community take center-stage in this breathtakingly astonishing show. This student showcase will feature performances on lyra, silks, and sling. This show will include solos, duos, and group pieces.
