Catch us flying on a pirate ship in the May Day Parade!

A group of Minneapolis artists and businesses have picked up the May Day Parade torch and are running with it in 2023! In the Heart of the Beast Puppet Theatre (HOBT) began hosing the MayDay Parade and Festival in the 1970s. During the last several years, both HOBT and the world have gone through immense changes and the fate of the celebration was unknown. But a group of community arts organizations have come together to revive the parade and celebration. Art Cars/Art Bikes, Battle Train, Stilt Walkera nd Carboard Camp artists have joined together to bring the parade in 2023.

Parade Details:

11 a.m. - Line up at Bloomington Avenue and 28th Street

12 p.m. - Parade begins south down Bloomington to Powderhorn Park

2 p.m. - Parade ends at Powderhorn Park

3 p.m. - The Tree of Life Ceremony will begin with the Sun crossing the Lake

4–9 p.m. - Celebration at Reverie Café
